In this series of articles, we take you through some of the basic steps to ensure you get the most from the Wavin content packages available in the BIM Centre of MyPortal. We’ll start by looking a take you through some of the basic steps to ensure you get the most from the Wavin content packages available in the BIM Centre of MyPort and how to import our packages in Revit.
Before you start, make sure that you can see the “Project Browser” and the “Properties” window on your screen, as seen below.
Start the import by selecting the desired pipe type, making sure that you Highlight all the tags, the pipes and the fittings. Then select ‘Copy to Clipboard’ from the top left of the toolbar.
Now switch to your project, select a 2D view and find a space to paste in the content.
Go to the “Modify” ribbon and Paste everything from the clipboard. Disregard the warning that shows up, click to place the content, and then delete it. The Wavin families are now installed in your project.
First, duplicate an existing 3D view and rename it to “Wavin validation view”. Go to the “Manage” ribbon and select “Transfer Project Standards”.
Tick ‘None’ and make sure to only select ‘View Templates.’
Click ‘OK’ and change the ‘View Template’ to ‘Wavin validation view’
Click ‘OK’ and now only the Sanitary systems are still visible
First, go to the package and select the Schedules by clicking on them and holding down the ‘Shift’ key.
Copy them by selecting “Control+C”
Go back to your project, and paste them by pressing ‘Control+V’ and click ‘OK’.
The “Wavin schedules” have now been incorporated into your project.
