You can find the new Y-40 swimming pool, the deepest in the world, in the park of the Hotel Terme Millepini, Italy. This is a four-star hotel with thermal swimming pools and spa, a wellness centre and thermal treatments.
The hotel is also known for its famous restaurant and the striking environment of the Europe Hall, where cultural, and entertainment events and weddings are held.
The Project
Y-40 is designed and built by architect Emanuele Boaretto, with the support of “Boaretto Group Hotel & Resort and experts in various underwater disciplines.
Y-40 is a 20x18m water mirror, that has a maximum depth of 40 metres, with various mid-depths and four caves for technical underwater activities. There is 4300mc of water maintained at a temperature between 32-34 ° C. The name Y-40 is inspired by the mathematical symbol. "Y" is the axis of the Orders of the Cartesian system, and "-40" marks the world record of depth reached by the pool 40 metres of depth.
Considering the high levels of intake and the volumes of water to be carried, coupled with the chemical quality of the fluid, the Wavin HDPE soil and the waste system were chosen due to their high performance in terms of range endurance.
Wavin HDPE is a complete soil, waste and vent system of pipes and fittings, manufactured from high-density polyethylene (PE HD). Wavin HDPE is particularly suitable for the drainage of used water. In fact, this material stands out for its extraordinary chemical resistance and low specific weight on the one hand and, on the other hand, for a high degree of flexibility and strength resistance guaranteed even at low temperatures. Wavin HDPE pipes and fittings are jointed by welding, making the joints resistant to tension.
Case History
The wide range and availability of diameters have made Wavin HDPE the ideal system for managing and transporting high volumes of water contained within the Y-40 pool created at Hotel Millepini.
