GI awards 2024

Supported by PTSB, the awards are a celebration of leading Irish businesses that support jobs, are committed to local communities and contribute to Ireland, its people and its economy. The awards, which will be presented by national radio presenter and impressionist Oliver Callan, will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Guaranteed Irish and will recognise and reward the success and resilience of homegrown and multinational businesses across various sector categories.

Wavin Ireland has been a huge supporter of the local community since it began operations in Ireland over 65 years ago. In Balbriggan, home to our Irish HQ, we support a number of local charities and organisations. In 1993 we entered a 100 year lease with Gormanstown Angling Club which effectively gave the Wavin Lake, a resource originally intended to supply water for production in the factory, back to the community and which is to this day a bio-diversity and recreational landmark in the town. The Irish Institute of Music & Song in Balbriggan undertook a large scale upgrade of their campus and Wavin provided AquaCell units to facilitate stormwater management within the site - a key element of which is a sustainable drainage system to minimise the impact of excess rainwater into the area's local drainage network. The area in which the tank is situated will be used as an out-door mini-Amphitheatre, named Wavin Amphitheatre.

We support BíUrban, a community project based in Stoneybatter which created the the Rain Garden Pilot, designed to slow down the flow of urban rainwater run off using purpose built rain gardens. We provided product to help fund this project which is now at data collection phase. We are a supporter of the Guaranteed Irish Forest which will see 40,000 tree saplings planted over three years, covering approximately 14 hectares. This forest will become a public amenity for local communities and will support biodiversity for generations to come.

Whether providing sustainably manufactured products. using our Recycore Technology, designing rainwater solutions that capture and manage increased rainfall effectively or offering solutions for quieter living in multi-person dwellings, we’re constantly innovating to address the needs of our evolving environment.

We’re delighted to have received these nominations and wish Guaranteed Irish every success with the awards and their anniversary celebrations. We’re looking forward to the event!
