Wavin Tigris K5/M5 Scoops Innovative Product of The Year at the Plumbing and Heating Awards 2023
The Wavin Ireland team was delighted to attend the Plumbing and Heating Awards which took place in Clontarf Castle in Dublin recently. The highlight of the night came as our new Tigris K5/M5 press fit fitting was declared winner of the Innovative Product of the Year Award! 
Hosted by Plumbing & Heating Magazine, the awards are judged by an independent panel of respected industry experts who have unrivalled experience and industry knowledge.
The Wavin Ireland team was proud as the judges described the new product as a “standout entry with impressive new technology developed with the installer in mind”. The 80 decibel Acoustic Alert that whistles loud enough for installers to detect unpressed fittings, and the In4Sure 360º feature which gives installers a quick visual check of the pipe insertion impressed the judging panel. The multi jaw feature which allows installers to work with five different types of jaw and further contributed to the judges’ decision.
The launch of Tigris K5/M5 in a new range of 16mm to 40mm press-fit fittings is designed to effectively detect faults in unpressed fittings builds on the success and reliability of its predecessor, Tigris K1/M1.
The fitting’s unique design, including the Acoustic Alert feature, is the first to enable testing with air as well as water and its market leading benefits help to streamline the overall pressure testing process, whilst also ensuring accuracy and maintaining a hygienic pipe system.
Additionally, the Optiflow feature ensures a 50% greater flow rate when compared with K1/M1. Designed to deliver optimal flow performance through the fittings, this is especially relevant for smaller pipe diameters, and will insure a higher total system performance.

The Tigris K5 /M5 plumbing system, manufactured in accordance with ISO 21003 and WRAS approved, is suitable for Hot and cold-water installations as well as heating systems. Whatever the application, Wavin Tigris K5/M5 offers the fittings and multi-layer pipes in diameters from 16-40mm needed to do a great job, every time. The Tigris K5 fittings comprise a PPSU body and the Tigris M5 comprise a brass body.
