Estas incluyen el uso racional y eficiente de la energía, la construcción sostenible y las energías renovables. ## **Uso Racional y Eficiente de La Energía** Las normativas establecen principios para promover el uso racional y eficiente de la energía como principio rector para cualquier tipo de construcción en Panamá.   Abordando criterios mínimos para ahorro energético tales como iluminación LED, termopares instalados en las puertas exteriores y ventanas, entre otros dispositivos eficientes.    Además, los constructores deben impulsar planes competitivos que maximicen los beneficios energéticos sin comprometer la calidad o confort del hogar o edificio. ## **Construcción Sostenible** Otra iniciativa importante es la regulación relacionada con el uso responsable del suelo urbanizable.    Los planes generales deben otorgar prioridad a los espacios verdes y respetar áreas protegidas establecidas por ANAM. En cuanto a materiales, se anima a los constructores a optar por aquellos provenientes de fuentes locales así como, usarlos en forma inteligente para minimizar el desperdicio por obra creada durante el proceso constructivo. ## **Energías Renovables** La construcción moderna ha experimentado un gran impulso en la inclusión de energías renovables.    Por ejemplo, un edificio moderno calculado para tener una huella de carbono cero requiere usar sólo paneles solares para abastecer al edificio de electricidad.    Otros tipos comunes de energías renovables para los proyectos de construcción incluyen paneles fotovoltaicos, geotermia y sistemas microeólicos.   La implementación de estas tecnologías beneficia enormemente al medio ambiente, mientras que al mismo tiempo se favorece la salud y la integridad del ecosistema existente en dicha región. En resumen, La sostenibilidad es un elemento clave en todos los proyectos de construcción.
