Wavin Offers the Perfect Combination of Plumbing and Drainage Solutions for Urbanization
22 November 2021
• Wavin Tigris K5/M5 to support acoustic leak feature alert setting new standards for Metal-Plastic pipe connections
• Wavin AS+ to deliver unique sound absorption properties in drainage solutions.
New Delhi, November 22, 2021 - Wavin, an innovative pipes and fittings solution provider for the building and infrastructure industry, today, announced the launch of two new product series in the form of Wavin Tigris K5/M5 plumbing solutions and Wavin AS+ low noise drainage system for the Indian market.
Building on the successful 30-year plastic low-noise legacy of the Wavin AS system, the new and improved Wavin AS+ provides advanced noise reduction in soil and waste systems. This will significantly reduce the problem of noisy drainage pipes in multi-storey buildings as well as as well as resolve time and budget constraints in the building process through ease-of-installation and great value.
Low noise drainage system: Wavin AS+
Wavin AS+ is constructed using a unique high-density material and features a unique Wavin Low Noise bracket to further reduce structure born sound. The Wavin AS+ uses a compact design, ideal for small and narrow spaces. With a sculptured spigot design, it significantly reduces push-in force, and the self-lubricated patent blue seal ensures both quiet performance, super-easy, leak- and failure- proof installation. Furthermore, to support the planning process, Wavin’s new Soundcheck Tool provides an easy six-step way of meeting ever-changing noise regulations by simulating system acoustics in the final installation.
Speaking about the India launch of Wavin AS+ and Wavin Tigris K5/M5, Mr. Freek Crum, President, Wavin Asia Pacific said, “We are extremely excited about this latest version of our Wavin AS+ and the Wavin Tigris K5/M5 systems. We have invested a great deal of time and effort in customer feedback and researching for the right materials and design. The Wavin AS+ represents a whole new level of performance for plastic low-noise drainage systems and an ideal solution for engineers and installers.”
“On the other hand, Wavin Tigris K5/M5 is a notch above its predecessor Wavin Tigris K1/M1 fitting and with the industry first acoustic leak alert, air pressure testing technique it is no longer a hiccup in the building installation phase. Further, due to air leakage testing various issues like bacterial growth (Legionella) in the period between testing and using due to water stagnation, messy workspace is negated. Both the products will prove to be a key step for supporting urbanization growth and offer installers a top-notch professional installation in India” he added.
Not just any ordinary fittings: Wavin Tigris K5/M5
Wavin Tigris K5/M5 a brand-new press fitting series has a unique ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT feature that sets new standards for Metal-Plastic pipe connections. It is the world’s first fitting with an ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT. In a leakage test executed with air instead of water, an unpressed fitting will generate a loud and clear whistle sound ( +/- 80 dBA) for easy localization.
With the increased inner bore, called OPTIFLOW, Wavin Tigris K5/M5 with the best in class in flow performance. And for a reliable press connection, the new Tigris K5/M5 features MULTIJAW, which means that the fittings can now also be pressed with the most common pressing profiles like U and Up, TH, H and B. This enables installers to switch to Wavin without switching tools and maintaining their system warranty. Reliability and ease of installation are the key elements in this development. To make the installation as easy and reliable as possible, the fitting incorporates IN4SURE, 360° pipe visibility to check if the pipe is inserted properly. It also includes EASYFIT, which means it is not necessary to calibrate/chamfer the pipe after cutting.
With over 60 years of experience in the building and infrastructure industries, Wavin’s launch of the Wavin AS+ and Wavin Tigris K5/M5 reinforces its commitment to meet the water supply needs and urbanization of the world’s largest, and fastest-growing, region.
